BACKGROUND
This was the fifth of a successful series of International Conferences on "New Horizons in Industry and Education" previously held on Santorini island, 1999, on Milos island, 2001, on Santorini island on 2003 and Corfu island on 2005.
It was organized by the Department of Applied Informatics and Multimedia of the Technological Educational Institute of Crete (GR).
AIM
At the turn of the 21st century most industries are experiencing radical changes due to the introduction of new technologies and the globalisation of business. These changes are challenging industrialists and educators alike. They require new ways of doing business, innovative strategies and new approaches to competition. The Conference key feature is to identify those changes and their requirements for industrialists. Special attention will be drawn to the necessary innovative approaches and experiences developed in education to adapt teaching to these new challenges.
